The petrol variant of the car will be powered by a 1.4 liter power train of Maruti’s latest K Series with VVT. The K14 engine is the largest K series engine so far. With a displacement of 1372 cc, the engine of Maruti Ertiga petrol with variable valve timing is expected to be capable of delivering a peak power of 95 bhp along with a peak torque of 130 Nm.

Both petrol and diesel version of the car will come coupled with a five speed manual transmission gearbox as standard. The automatic transmission version of Maruti Ertiga is expected to be launched in the country after a few months of the launch of Manual transmission version. All variants of the car will be compatible with the new generation BS-IV emission norms, thanks to the Maruti’s new age K series engine, which is not only better in fuel efficiency, but also emits lower Co2  in the environment.

This is the same engine that Maruti is sourcing from Fiat for its Swift, Ritz and Swift Dzire models.

This MPV will be launched sometime in the middle of 2012. Maruti Ertiga price is expected to be between Rs 6-9 lakh and will meet head-on with Toyota Innova.
